How to instruction book with a great color cover of a mother showing her young daughter how to knit. They're both seated in an oversized chair and both have yarn and knitting needles. The daughter learns by example as she leans against her mother and tries to repeat the motions of her mother. The page opposite the introduction has views of the Fleisher mills in Philadelphia and Manayunk. "Wherever women meet, the art of knitting and crocheting is discussed the newest garments, the best stiches, the prettiest colors. Many have recently been converted to the charm of this work, realizing that machine made garments do not equal in softness, beauty, and distinctive elegance, those made by hand, and that, therefore, the time spent in knitting and crocheting is both pleasant and profitable."
